@Alastair70 ‘Saison to be Grateful’
Apologies for the late review but holiday and Covid got in the way !
I have been looking forward to this for some time and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
It poured a slightly hazy amber colour with a good off white creamy head which slowly dissipated. A slight bready aroma with citrusy undertones, initial taste was slightly sweet and malt forward SWMBO said it had a pleasant toffee or fudge taste but I didn’t get that. The Saison yeast taste profile was certainly there too. A beer I really enjoyed sipping. Thanks for sending this one. Cheers
@samale 7.2% ABV
Sorry for the long wait
Great carbonation with a large creamy head which lasted to the end.
The aroma was slightly spicy
with yeasty undertones which was more prominent as it warmed up.
Colour was a slightly hazy amber shade that was very pleasing to the eye.
Initial flavour was tart with a bitter orange or marmalade taste, typical for a beer of this style.
The alcohol was certainty present but it is a 7.2% beer after all.
A great example of style and very well executed.
Thanks for sending me this one.
