This will be my next brew. My question is - for this style of beer - which would be the better of the two options for extra fermentables. Pure LME, or beer enhancer?

Great! Now I’ve got a third option.
Just to clarify, on the pack it advises either LME, or enhancer, as extra fermentables. Hence my question.

I know! I was just asking which would be the better choice.

LME is the better choice but sugar works I use it with Range Export Stout.

I brewed it with 1kg medium spraymalt and if I did it again would use dark, although I accidentally made it up to 5 gallons out of habit.

I've never really noticed any real difference between Liquid Malt Extract and Dried Malt Extract when sampling the final product, but whichever you choose, I'd use a dark LME or a dark DME for that style of beer. i don't know where you're ordering from, but the Dark Rock beer enhancer is very good - and they do a dark version.
