WARNING!!!!
Don't assume the bottle is empty if it's not "hissing", you need to remove the top and fill with water for a few days to make sure all the LPG has gone before using a cutting blade......

Thinking about making one of these at work, is anyone already using one??
Bet MuddyDisco has ;) ;)

Oh it was a workshop . . . . . I was wondering why you had all that moulding and those machines inside that dirty great big freezer you kept your beer in

I've got a couple of those from a company that went bust, Alta gas and the tip wont touch them.

Looks like a better idea than my drunken one a few months back, a solar air heater, lots of youtube videos, then I woke up and remembered I live in one of the cloudiest places on the planet, lovely wet Wales ;)

Im just putting the finishing touches to mine, hardest thing was getting the valve off, fancy using it and and old central heating boiler for an ag attempt one day. :)

if you do build one lads beware... :thumb:
When you remove the valve fill the bottle with water and let stand for a few days for the residue LPG to escape, never assume it's empty when it stops hissing. ;)

I think I should open the big doors and let some heat in in winter   It was certainly colder inside than outside yesterday (and today).

Heres a real wood burner - adapted for brewing, i have 4 of these and 2 that burn coal but are a different design. The coal ones use a steel bucket on the inside which you fill with coal then put a bit of wood on the top and light up with 'magic wood', its basically sap impregnated wood which burns to start the rest off, then they actually burn downwards from the top - both chuck out tremendous heat too!!

What a brill idea...fancy finding that..I've got an old bottle...wow patio heater here I come...

OK My tips, leave outside with the valve off for at least a week, in the cold any liquid lpg will take a while to boil off, then fill it with water and leave full for a day or two, drain and refill to the brim again. I have seen some idiot put a torch to one of these after only taking the Valve off, needless to say it went like a torpedo across the yard.

my dad is making a used oil burner from a lpg tank to use as a forge smelting ally (he makes his own engines!) Il get pics when im next at his .

Just taken the valve off one and its stunk the shed out. Filled with water and will attack it in bodge mode next week.

I have some brass hinges for the door and bottom vent, need to workout how to extend the door off cut as I don't weld

My mate sez he cut the door opening down either side and put the hinges on, then he cut the top and bottom.... doing it this way should get the door nice and straight.....

Thanks John, makes sense doing it that way. I'll have to do the flue first so I can reach inside to bolt the hinges on

You'll need to buy one of the very thin cutting discs for an angle grinder.
