Nah just a drip feed burner an old skillet raised up from the bottom of the bottle, the oil feed from a tank up high a couple of wraps of the feed pipe around the flue to warm the oil then drip into the skillet. bob's your uncle :thumb:

Are you sure MD, my memory is not as good as it used to be :? :( ;) but when I was looking into the project I remember , if you warm the oil it gets got and flows better, so the chimney hotter, flows more, burns and gets the chimney hotter, flows better, burns and gets the chimney hotter.............    or you are continually adjusting the thing and dare not leave the beast unanattended ;)
The thing is I really can't remember the alternative. :? It must have been something to do with maintaining a constant temp in the feed oil :?
Have fun. :D

Thanks John, makes sense doing it that way. I'll have to do the flue first so I can reach inside to bolt the hinges on
You'll need to buy one of the very thin cutting discs for an angle grinder.

Been looking around for flues and am not finding anything cheap, anyone got any ideas, something 3-4inches diameter

I was told to look out for some old metal lamp posts in scarp merchants yards around 3-4 inch. :thumb:
If you look at the new style metal street lights they're ideal. ;) ;)

Not sure the scrap merchants around here would have old lamp posts, will have a look :thumb:

Found THIS metal ducting

I'm sure that would melt or disintegrate in no time. :hmm:

Yep, had a look at the ducting today and its paper thin, so plan B is galvanised fence post from the farm shop or borrow a piece of next doors scaffolding.
I've drained and refilled the gas cylinder with water, Christ it stinks.

Will post pics and update as I go along :)

You need at least a 4 inch diameter stack to get a good draw and let it breath on one of these things ,6 inch is preferable ,ooh er, missus..

I'm running out of ideas Spud to get a flue at a cheap price.

Might have time in the next few weeks to have a nose around the scrapyard, but for now will just cut up what I can :hmm:

Same problem as me BB I need a proper flue to get outside of the garage and I need around 4m of it to get up to the idea height. not going to be cheap.

Try Broxton Gates. They've got all manor of **** lying around that could be useful.

I'll be doing the scrap metal yards soon, when I'm out in't car I keep my eyes open for owt that'll do the trick, up to now lamp posts look good. ;) ;)

How about a dead and defunct CO2 Cylinder  After the pressure has been let off first

Is that a reclamation yard James?

Scaffolding pole is next to useless, lots of smoke coming out the front. Farm shop want £50 for a galvanised fence post

Anyways made a start

Some have been known to get some large bore truck exhaust and cut/weld to fit, probably get some from the rear of ATS or any commercial vehicle repairer. :thumb:
