i just tried a beer i kegged in early spet.

i hadnt touched it since keggin it with 250gm of sugar, its a wilko pilsner.

im on my third half pint of foamy head!

90% of it is just head, quite nice the head. bit like drinkin a cloud.

i noticed a sort of dried water/beer mark on the floor when i stored it, sorta under the tap area. im guessing theres too much pressure in the keg,

i didnt co2 it, so im thinking if i draw more of it off and drink it....ummm drink of cloud....... itll sort its self, of shall i crack the cap off and co2 it.

Hi scaff. Im no expert and most my brews come out wrong. But i think 140g is the normal amoung for a lager. :(

I put no more than 75g in a 40 pint pressure barrel of ale. Don't drink lager, too fizzy, butthat ssounds a lot!

Perhaps open the cap till you hear a hiss for a second or two and try again?

Yeh, 3oz is normal, which is about 80g - and you'll still get a huge head with that, or at least you do with the kegs I use, the tap seems to generate the head as the beer squirts out.
If you need to relieve the pressure and it's just a normal pressure barrel you've got there, just tip the thing over on it's back so there's no beer at the tap and open the tap a little to let the gas out. If you let it all out you'll need to reprime the barrel again. Only use the right amount this time though...
I usually find with a pressure barrel that after priming I'll have pressure until the thing is about half empty, at which point I take the cap off, put 3 ozs sugar in, leave it a week and hey presto you've got pressure til the beer is right down to the tap.

I used 150g in my 23L IPA and it is as gassy as a lager. A tad more than the American IPA I have tried and they are gassy compared to UK ales. If I'm not really careful when pouring, even when fridge cold, I end up with 2-3" of head. Next time I'll use about 90-100g.
