Hi I was thinking of trying to make life easier, at the moment I have 3 fermenting buckets and 2 pressure barrels. I am just about to order online for a coopers pale ale, and a coopers european lager. The lager I want to bottle, (and I want to order the little bottler too). My question is do i just unscrew the tap thats on the bottom of the pressure barrel and screw the little bottler in? or do I need any other attachments. The plan is to ferment the lager then put it in the barrell to mix with primer and then straight into bottles using the little bottler, but as I said im unsure if it fits or i need any other attachment. Cheers for any replies
P.S should I stick with wilkos BKE or would you recomend other sugars etc seeing as im buying online i may as well get it all in one go

Read your question, but no idea. Sorry. But also curious what the answer is.

I believe that the L' Bottler tap is to replace the in-situ' tap, but more for replacing fermenter taps

The little bottler comes with its own tap, washer and nut, the idea is that you use your little bottler on a spare FV! I have a bucket pre-drilled and use it just as my bottling bucket! the little bottler is great and makes bottling soooo easy!

So I would take one of your FV's drill a hole in it for the little bottler and use that as you bottling bucket!

hi guys thx for the replies, as Shauny says can you drill out a fermenting bucket ? I would imagine so. Seeing as I have 3 buckets I can drill one out and just keep it for that particular job. All I need to find out is the drill bit size. If its the same size hole as the one on the pressure barrell tap I could in theory just use that barrell if its not being used.

I used a pair of compasses to scribe a circle, a stanley knife and a half moon file.

While praying to Cthulhu?

Hahaha! This genuinely made me laugh out loud quite a lot - nice!

By the way, those fermenter taps (and the little bottler is just an airlocked tube attached to one of these taps) require 25mm holes. I use a 24mm drill bit and screw 'em in for a tighter fit, but you could just as easily use a small knife - or divine intervention.

I have lots of FVs with little lever taps on them (don't like barrel taps much, too messy) and it's possible to just move the little bottler tube between taps and FVs very simply.

Lol, haven't spoken to him since I pawned my Cradle of Filth! Just a quick whisper to Gambrinus seemed to do the trick :thumb:
