I have totally neglected this thread recently.

The Pilsner and BIPA (the one with the oak chips) have turned out to be cracking beers. The BIPA in particular is a firm favourite at the moment with the whiskey oak flavours really coming through now.

Before Xmas I brewed a, what I am calling a Hefe Pale. I wanted to use up some ingredients and put together a pretty standard hoppy pale recipe but it had a mixed yeast culture of USA pale ale and Hefe. Its growing on me but not something I would brew again.

I have also just brewed this hoppy pale.

First time using Sabro - they smelled amazing when I opened the packet. Looking forward to trying this one, it will be my first beer going into my new cornie set up.

Hit all my numbers but it came out a bit more orange than indicated on BeerSmith, that will be the Golden Promise.

I’ve never smelt or tasted sabro, the coconut is a strange one, all I can imagine is a Malibu beer, yuk. Could you smell it from the hops?

I’m sure it will be a cracking pint, keep us updated!

No I couldn't smell the coconut, just smelt of a glass of Tropicana.

@dan125 made a beer with it and I couldn't pick out the coconut.

I tried Dan's beer with sabro and cascade. I didn't get coconut flavours. I got more of a tropical flavour. It's definitely a different hop, it's on my list to try. Would be nice to see how it pairs with the likes of mosaic or citra. Nice hop for the summer.

GEB are bowing stocking sabro and it's half the price of CML

I think I have one of yours for the forum comp @Leon103?

How do you find dry hopping for 12 days vs the typical 3-7?

No not mine.

The first dry hop is the bio transformation hop. Just a small amount to assist with the hazy appearance I am after. The way the yeast kicked off yesterday I will be doing that dry hop today whilst I have a high krausen

Funny that as I hadn;t heard of Sabro until I saw it on the label and read your post here.

Got you, like a NEIPA sort of DH schedule then. Hope it turns out well.

Brewed this Coffee Breakfast stout 3 weeks ago and it's been in the keg a week. Tastes promising but coffee is a bit overpowering for me at the moment but I expect this to get better with time. I added the coffee with 5 days left. Just added the beans into a hop bag straight into the FV.

Looks good in the glass

Update on the breakfast stout. Been drinking this a lot from the keg and the coffee flavour is still a bit too strong for me. Tried a bottle of it tonight and found it much better, the coffee flavour was a lot milder and there was a little less carb.

Put another DDH Pale ale on last week. Similar grain bill to my last one, slightly more oats to use them up. Hops changed. Last year @Hoddy and I had a lovely Idaho 7 and Azacca pale in Brew by Numbers in London Town, so this is trying to replicate that.

The Pia yeast kicks off so fast, bubbling away in hours, within 12 hours the krausen was through the airlock. I did squeeze every last bit of space out of my FV, topping 25 litres. First hops actually went in after 24 hours to hit high krausen, next lot in Monday ready to keg next weekend.

Last weekend I made version 2 of my house pilsner. This time a smash of pilsner malt and Hallertau Blanc hops. I used CML Hell yeast, 2 packs. It went off like a rocket, fermenting at 12.5c it was escaping at 12 hours and a week in it is still bubbling every 2 seconds. Will ferment for 3 weeks and then crash for about 5 weeks before trying. Hopefully lockdown will be over and my none homebrew friends can sample.

Can't believe it was May when I last updated this.

That pilsner is just coming to an end, my best pilsner to date.

Since then I brewed some summer berry cider, a Kviek IPA which wasn't to great. Will try another pint but looks like I will throw the rest, and a saison.

Today was brew day again and done a Black IPA. Recipe can't be published yet as it is a 4 way brew off with @dan125, @Hoddy and @dave_77.

Will report more once it is safe to discuss the recipe. Hopefully I will do more to keep this thread going.
