Lego, Mecano, Action Man. Pretty much most of my childhood as well :)

I really don't think much of the current offerings, no imagination required, no challenge to the grey matter, I worry about the kids of today growing up with toys like that :(

Being from the Land of Lego, I too spent hours and hours playing with Lego, building all sorts. My mum occasionally chucked all the pieces into pillow cases and ran it through the washing machine - maybe that's why our Lego was pretty much always gleaming...

As for Legoland - there is only one, and it's in Billund, Denmark. It's the mutt's nuts! :thumb:

Before i got started on sorting this lot out i did think to myself, as its all going to be sold even though its all well looked after and pretty clean, maybe i should just give it all a clean anyway?
Then i thought nope, im not cleaning possibly in excess of 10.000 pieces of Lego.

The pillow slip idea is genius yet so simple idea. Im glad i thought of it :D

I recently donated my collection to my niece, modern lego is far too expensive and restictive, seems to be far too many specialised shapes.

My stuff is far simpler, and was still stored by 'colours' in plenty of ice cream boxes.

What amazed me was a little google and I found loads of the old instructions online to rebuild some of mine.

As my niece and sister where staying at my parents, my mum thought the days of standing on rogue bricks were long gone....
