Moving on from the “what are you listening to?” topic, I'm on about my 6th run through a new album which arrived a couple of days ago, and it started me wondering:

What were the last five albums you've actually bought, for yourself?

By this I mean actually paid for a legal download, mail ordered or went out and put your hand in your pocket to purchase CDs. I realise this might be something of an alien concept for some of the Yorkshire contingent so you may extend this to pre-recorded cassettes, vinyl LPs or 78s.

Be honest!

My own, in reverse order:

Lady Antebellum - Own the night
Wonderland - Wonderland
Bruno Mars - Doo-wops & hooligans
Adele - 19 *
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Night castle

* Mrs. Mole bought “21” and I thought it was pretty good, but that was before every radio station and video channel started flogging some of the tracks to death, then I saw “19” marked down and paid a fiver for it.

Don't even begin to imagine you can get any idea about my music library from this selection, you would be completely wrong.

Iron & Wine - Kiss Each Other Clean
Metronomy - The English Riviera
Twin Sister - Vampires With Dreaming Kids
Gardens & Villa - Gardens & Villa
School of Seven Bells - Alpinisms

I think this is right, however, I do buy a lot of music so it may be that I've missed a more recent one.

The Rolling Stones- Some Girls
Seasick Steve- Started out with nothing and i still got most of it left
The Clash- The singles
Ice T- Home Invasion
Dj Shadow- The Outsider

grouplove - never trust a happy song ( you might have heard part of their song on an advert, cant remember which one, it goes 'take me to your best friends house') their album is quality, theres a few different singers so its a complete mental mix of styles, if you could mix up fratellis, black kids, beach boys, pixies, subways - it sounds terrible but its awesome. if you want to hear something a bit different

the cribs - ignore the ignorant - indie band
twin atlantic - free - scottish emo/rock
rage against the machine - renegades - funk rock!
the unwinding hours - the unwinding hours. - scottish indie folk band - ***** album

i went to see them in glasgow at the barras last december it was awesome.
the twilight sad have loads of great songs, try 'i became a prostitute', 'the room' 'cold days from the birdhouse', 'that summer, at home, i had become the invisible boy', watching that chair painted yellow. the room is my fave. they went to the same school as me in kilsyth, glasgow, my bro is good mates with them

Great album Aleman
Not a lover of Grunge to be totally honest . . . I only bought the album because my guitar teacher is making me play Smells like teen spirit  . . . That is a great song . . . the rest of the album I can leave more or less.

Led Zep for pretty much the same reason . . . Learning to play Whole lotta love

Luckily I can Rip the analogue to MP3 and then play it on the computer (The CD player has died and I need to have AB repeat :D )

My guitar teacher is 25 years younger than me and loves the same music . . . I can see my spending on music going up considerably very quickly

My latest purchases have been rebuys of those CD's that you know you once owned...lent to someone....and never clapped eyes on again!!!

Reef-Glow
Nirvana - In Utero
The Dogs B*****cks - Various Artists
Therapy? - Troublegum
The Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker

Thrilled to bits to finally have them again and have been playing them flat out, rather loudly.....I'm sure my neighbours are pleased with me lol!! :)
