Does anyone know where you can buy a food safe biab bag large enough for a 50L pot? Or even rolls of foodsafe nylon to make one? Im really struggling to find anything, or even any info on the safety of the various materials commonly used regarding their safety.

I worry about things like this.

Try and use natural fibre material, if you use nylon and it touches the hot element in your boiler it will be ruined and it will spill its content into the brew - disaster.

Natural fibre gives a little protection against this - not much - but a little.

I also agree with the make it yourself or persuade a relative to make one for you. Cotton Viole or as alawlor66430 suggested a net curtain will make a good brew bag.

Food grade doesn't matter - you will be boiling the brew which will kill off any nasties

I use one of these to do my BIAB brew in... It's stood up to quite a few brews so far and still in good condition...

Although large it's perhaps slightly smaller than is ideal so i just 'knead' the grains a bit with a large spoon against the sides of the bag as it mashesto make sure I get all the grain thoroughly wetted.
