After experiencing a stuck fermentation with a Muntons conker wood ale Ive started to use safale s 04, with all my brews ( Muntons & St Peters) in stead of yeast supplied.
Had no problems since but have now got loads of 6gr packs of yeast. Have used 2 6gr packs with same batch numbers in a 40 pint brew, worked fine.
Wondering if the batch numbers matter or could I use 2 with different batch numbers,
seems a shame to not use them.

I use the S04 yeast too.
I save the trub after fermentation and re use the yeast.

After having a couple of failures I've put down a couple of brews using kit yeast.
I did as Rodcx500z says and used two kits yeasts. Gone off like a rocket.
This is for a Morgans kit. You've only recently got those in the UK, but I see some people are having the same problem as Muntons.

I'm lucky too that if I don't use the kit yeast I give it back to the bloke in the health food store where I buy my kits.
He'll take a dollar off the kit, and I get the odd discount.
