king keg top tap? Good idea or over engineered nonsense?

Need another pressure barrel and the missus says she doesn't want to many barrels on top of things so is the top tap a good barrel? I could store it on the floor under my stairs ( the brewery) I have read bad review. is it worth just pissing the gooD lady off and buying a cheap barrel?

It works, the only reason I got rid was because I went down the corny keg route.

If I did corni keg instead of pressure barrel for a complete set up what am I looking at price wise ( including co2 and tap)
