Thank f**k for that. They are the peeps I bought my snubnose off a few weeks ago. Was starting to worry that I had bought a wrong 'un.
Snubnose is definitely ours. Most likely sourced from Brouwland. Brouwland will not be selling this product in the future as they are no longer a distributor for us.

Guessing the gen 1s sold by The Malt Miller were purchased through the same channels also and are genuine too? I ask as I have one, and the stand punched holes straight through the jacket purchased with it as it just doesn't fit right.

Thank goodness for that. I bought a snub nose around the same time from GEB, and it's been an excellent addition to my brewing.

Our chemical engineer Darren who is a prize winning young brewer has drawn up appropriate regimes for this and I will get him to offer this to you later today.
Did Darren come back to you?

Curious to know if sodium percarbonate and a soft cloth (with caution) is a bad thing to be doing with my PET fermenter or if I should be needing to invest in a CIP at additional cost cos I can't get my arm in the neck of the keg King fermenter.

This is an example of more of the typical marketing propaganda from Keg King posting negativity about competitor

Interesting thing on this one is that they have posted a whole load of competitor negativity marketing propaganda and then also stated that they don't want to see any negativity. Seriously !!

Well done for someone for seeing it and calling it out

Its great to get new products and more choice but just find this consistent style of marketing from Keg King so off putting. The Australian homebrew forum is riddled with this endless nonsense and it is a shame to see it here also

Don't even know where to start with corrections on the BS have read on this one, probably best not as have called it out before and does result in an endless stream of nonsense that no one is remotely interesting and pollutes the Aussie Forums

Darren gave me some of the cleaner to try on my kettle to remove beer stone I didn't think it would work as I had already tried oxalic acid. It worked within 20 minutes at 60 C but using it cooler temps takes longer, I have used sodium perborate in cold water overnight and that works but leaves a film. The film does wipe off, I use a toilet brush with a soft cloth wrapped around it.
You could make one of these easily with a spray ball.

Hmmmmm 3rd thread about the imminent arrival of new products to the UK market anyone? :)

I have no doubt there are tens of thousands of people who are delighted with their KL/Fermzilla products and it has taken their hobby to the next level in terms of what they have been able to achieve on a small scale which is very cool... there are also user images shared on the internet of failed Fermzilla tanks and collection bottles. That said... I don't actually see anything negative in the original post from this thread. I see a business wanting to introduce themselves to the UK market fully and take the time to get involved on a personal level with anyone interested in their products. Will has taken the time out of his day to answer every question that has been posted in this thread, how many CEO's usually do this?

The original post is based on fact, facts which apparently have been more than well documented around the world now from whichever invested party wants to make a point on whichever forum is their chosen weapon :) KK was being ripped off by former employees, the courts in Oz decided this was the case not propaganda. KK has to work hard now to distance itself from the newer to the market products/brand that have since been mis-represented the world over as "upgrades" to their own products when that couldn't be further from the truth. Have KL been more prominent in the International market and pushed the Fermzilla brand to the forefront? Absolutely.. read any home brew group and talk of pressure fermenting will no doubt feature the word Fermzilla more frequently than Fermentasaurus/Fermenter King... does that make historical fact irrelevant? Not at all. Everybody has a right to know what they are buying and KK have a right to say they are here to stand behind their own products and help anyone interested in buying one get the most out of using it. These two companies aren't the same company, nor are they two seperate companies manufacturing identical products... what they are are two seperate companies who build competing products which somehow have become associated as being from the same product family. KK should be able to enter a public forum and differentiate their own products from another brand which has been publicly documented to fail under minimal pressure, even more so when there is a misconception that one product is an upgrade over another and that they are somehow intertwined. Will is here to back this up by making himself accessible to talk to and big up the benefits of pressure fermenting via their own products. Sadly for KK previous events dictate they also need to point out that there are counterfeit versions of their own kit that reached the market. It's not negative, it's owning a situation and telling the world this is the case... there will be some people with counterfeit products built to lower standards than the real deal Fermentasarus are, or is that Fermentasauri?

This thread was going back in the right direction and now we are back to square one with another argumentative, and may I also point out negative post about a competitor. Shouting someone down as a liar without pointing out the reasons why doesn't change what the high courts decided was the truth, it's just noise to deflect from what has been said.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... one of these is Keg King, the original manufacturer of the Fermentasaurus and clear PET pressurisable fermenters... the other isn't

Green caps now :D
Thanks for this and the links. I admire you for doing this when some will jump at you.

But have you wittingly or unwittingly sold products from the upstarts?

I had a beer too many last night so have my boxing gloves on today :) those caps are going to be a nightmare to bag up...

We only started stocking Fermentasaurus products 7-8 months ago and these were purchased through official EU distribution, not from Keg King themselves, which we have now partially taken over. We've never stocked Fermzilla, although we do have one generic Kegland product on the shelf which we bought out of the same EU distributor.

KK can't vouch for where everybody bought their "Keg King" products, it would be wrong of them to guess this so they can't vouch for every store/site in the UK's stock. There are European wholesalers of home brew products who have potentially sold, knowingly or unknowingly, the counterfeit kit into the UK though, but again they have no way of knowing who this was to.

Keg King have some parts manufactured in China, they aren't slating Chinese manufacturing. What is the case though is that Keg King use proprietary moulds and techniques that aren't available to any other company, Chinese or not, to achieve the consistent levels of performance their kit is capable of. Keg King tanks are pressure tested on the lines, the tanks made in China aren't. The insuation is that this particular Chinese company doesn't manufacture kit to the same standards that King Keg do, not all.

It would be awesome if there wasn't a need to differentiate one product from another and let the products speak for themselves but I spend too much of my time answering facebook posts where a commentator has labelled the Fermzilla a newer, upgraded verion of the KK products. To my knowledge this has never been pointed out as incorrect on this site, and as I imagine there are users of not only this site but also the various Facebook groups, it only takes one post for someone to re-write what they saw on Facebook here.

Sorry missed your original question... KK have a design/engineering team that I believe is 10 strong, not a single persons domain. I don't want to get into a situation and slate someone elses product, but as my gloves are on, if he was the original designer and everything was his brainchild would he not know that making the collection bottle from a crystaline plastic with no expansion properties under pressure opens up the possibility they could and have shattered under pressure...

I think it's possible to advertise and drum up interest in your business without running down the competition (as dodgy as their behaviour has previously been).
It feels like some of the adverts you used to see on the telly when on holiday in America - Pepsi is *****, drink Coke instead etc. I did a Business Management and Marketing module as part of my degree and we were taught to emphasise the good points and that attacking the opposition was a form of weakness.

So in this case emphasising their state of the art moulding equipment that is unique to KK, and that their quality control department pressure checks every fermenter before it leaves production would have impressed everyone without any need to mention the competition. Instead it has become lost in accusations of substandard competitors and counterfeit fermenters.

I’m not claiming to be a marketing expert here BTW (I graduated 14 years ago), but certainly if their OP was worded like the above then this thread would have been 100% focused on their products and wouldn’t have taken the turn that it has.

People make false and misleading statements here so I will just offer the facts and stand behind them. Not here to do any marketing exercises etc as we leave that to politicians. We are a bunch of people dedicated to make good quality brewing gear and excited to bring it to UK home brewers. So lets work on that and not worry about all the stuff that claims to be associated with us one way or another. Our PET fermenters are the best in the world in their class and price range. They have the best clarity and the greatest integrity. They can easily handle 5 bar plus. The attached picture is from a destructive test where the vessel was taken to 6.5 bar. It split as is as designed to do and nothing flew off which could be a danger. If your interest is in getting better kit to brew great beer then hang in here. If you are here to teach me about marketing degrees then PM me directly. Keg King is doing just fine in many countries now with what we have been doing so far. Our business is to get you great gear that speaks for itself and does not need people with degrees in marketing to sell it. Its about brewing and not hype.

This person you mention did not get up and left for Kegland. He was removed (fired and marched out) from the business on legal advice from a top law firm. We do not insult Chinese manufacturing or point the finger like Boris and Donald do to Huawei. We are pissed off that a Chinese business helped itself to our name and is selling similar products to ours many of which were designed using our money. FYI that person registered the name Kegland and ordered and paid for a Kegland website whilst still in the employ of Keg King as a company director. Do you think dubious is the right word?

Also do you think when people are sold a product bearing a trademark which is not owned by the manufacturer and seller it is anything but counterfeit? It was not an insinuation but a fact.

This is not why I started this thread but the truth will be told and those who are here with all this half baked and wrong information will have it corrected and I can offer you documented proof if need be.

Now can we please get back to the pleasure and fun of brewing and how we can help people get a better experience in their hobby and passion. Frankly its thirsty work to do this and I am ready for a beautiful cold beer to wash away all these Trumpian post factoids that some people here hold dear to.

Tomorrow I will start going through some new gear that is being worked on and how it will make it easier to do great brews. Good night.

A bit rich that you level post-truth accusation at posters on here trying to give you a chance, given the Trumpian bombast that oozes from every one of your posts.

I am happy that Keg King products will be readily available here soon, but your marketing approach leaves a hell of a lot to be desired.

My opinion is that if you still have issues with how Kegland or any of their distribution channels are operating then that's something you should be taking up in private. Not using it as some sort of bizarre marketing tool.

If the story goes as you say it did, then you have my genuine sympathies, but you surely have to see that the way that you are presenting your business is not doing you any favours.

I don't know if anybody else feels the same way, so I will speak for myself alone. Reading all of this, I honestly do not give a hoot about your past legal problems, or present issues (real or imagined) with your competitors, and certainly don't want to read post after post about it all. Sure, I am interested in reading about how you try to improve your products, seeing photographs of your products and the like, but honestly I don't overly wish to observe you airing your dirty laundry for us all to see. To be quite blunt, the effect of all of this isn't to make me think "Ooh, I'll definitely be sure to buy Keg King products over Keg Land ones!", but rather "Think I'll go back to using Speidel FVs, no fuss, no muss, shame I can't see into them, but heh at least they don't air dirty laundry and bad mouth competition constantly"....

So yeah, you may want to rethink your approach maybe. Some may enjoy watching dumpster fires, many don't though I'm sure.

So lets take it off the forum and do it directly. Look forward to hearing from you. I don’t give a fig about Kegland but I will call out fiction.

I'm saying I'm not interested. If you want to sell me products, make me interested in your products. I'm not interested in legal disputes your company has had.

By and large our products sell themselves and we don’t need any great marketing campaign once the brewing fraternity tries it out. Going for some shuteye now as its late in Melbourne and its been a hard week in total stage 4 lockdown. Curfew from 8.00pm till 5.00am and need a permit to go to work oh joy of joys. Let me know what products interest you and I will start on those. I do think that people who will see our new generations of Fermenter Kings will be very impressed with the value for money and the performance.
