I hope there's going to be plenty of rinsing after you've tried all the various suggestions in this thread!

Lots of good advice though. I'm sure either oxi or vwp with hot water and an overnight soak will shift it eventually. Worth repeating the next day with more cleaner and hot water if there's still residue as it should be softened. The rice suggestion for agitation sounds good too. You could also try dried peas as the extra weight should help as you shake them. Only put them in at the end though not during the soak (unless you want an interesting pea soup!)
