Me too. I thought we already had a law for this called "causing and obstruction". But, alas, it appears if the people causing the obstruction are holding a banner of some sort its fine

and the clothing they all wear deprived mostly from synthetic fabrics...which is a fancy name for plastic fabrics.

But on one thing I have some sympathy for them. A while back a particular protester was criticised for rocking up to a just stop oil protest in an old Volvo rather than a shiny brand spanking new EV. I thought she was very unfairly treated as she clearly arrived to the demo in the most environmentally friendly form of horseless carriage.

There must have been some loopholes in the old law as making a new one when the old one covers it makes no sense.

The loophole was that the government couldn't squash any protest that was politically uncomfortable for them.
