The problem is if Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak go who will become leader would they (ignoring this **** up) do the job any better.
The fundamental basic of public life is that you are honest and transparent in everything that you do. These are known as the seven Nolan principles of public life as outlined here on the government's website The Seven Principles of Public Life

The population of the UK is about 67M - I imagine that there might be someone from that 67M who understands the principles of public life better than BJ.

Are you proposing that no Tories are capable of understanding and acting on them?

If the Prime Minister didn't know a birthday party was violating his own lockdown rules maybe it's not a great idea to have him in charge of a country during a war

We are not in a war!

Who would you like to be leader?

No, i am asking members reading this to tell me who can do the job better than these two considering the shitstorm we are heading into.

So you think that they are the best that we could find? If not why ask the question?

Why don't you answer my question instead of trying to turn it back on me this is the second time in this thread.

I am not a tory voter i haven't a clue who would do the job better than the two currently doing it hence the question.

I'm not a natural tory supporter, as some of you might have noticed, but Tobias Elwood, Bournemouth East, I think, seems a sincere and genuine chap even if he is thoroughly misquided.
Although he never stood a chance and his good looks go against him, I thought Rory Stewart looked competent and experienced enough to make a proper statesman. Was probably too decent for the job.

I have no interest in answering your question, didn't realise it was compulsory - just trying to understand why you asked it.

I think a potato could run this country better than these idiots could :laugh8: .

In all seriousness though it is a good question of who could replace them, because so far the tory party has got worse with each new leader, and those poised to replace Boris aren't actually any better. I also think as long as we have this terrible leader it makes getting rid of the tories in the next election more likely.

I think they need to look outside the cabinet as with all cabinets they are generally the PM's yes people and just clones

Out of the 67 million people in the UK why were most of the top Tory MPs educated at Eton, Rugby or similar Public Schools?

Also, as Oxford and Cambridge Universities have a limited number of Professors who teach Politics (and most of the MPs went to one of these Universities) I wonder what they were taught; and hope the relevant Professor got it right!

Agreed. We are NOT in a war!

Who would I like to lead this country?

Well, just about anyone who is intelligent, honest, understands what it means to be poor and has some experience of life outside of politics“The City”.

It would also be nice if the person thinks that the work of an MP is to represent their constituents and that MPs are adequately paid without needing to be beholden to a private company.

I think with 67,000,000 people to choose from, it shouldn’t be difficult!

Should anyone be in doubt, personally I will probably vote Labour at the next election.

However, even though I support the current Leadership of Mr Starmer, I didn’t vote for him in the last contest.

It’s called “Democracy”. This is apparently an alien concept to our current leaders; who prefer lying, cheating and blind loyalty instead!

Kind of amazing.
Two of the top two politicians in the UK have been found to have broken the law (that his government put in place).

Lying self-serving hypocrites who think a simple “sorry” can fix this. Our best hope now is a vote of no confidence.

Coming from Sheffield originally and witnessing Maggie T decimate heavy industry and mining, at least we saw that she had integrity not like this lot. Boris may think Ukraine is his Falklands - no way, more like his Vietnam.

In fact it's neither a Falklands nor a Vietnam. We're not involved. It's not our war. We may supply a bit of money and some weapons (probably in the form of loans and sales respectively) but all the hype is for the home audience, to make our cowardly, fridge-dwelling Boris look good. Look at today's headline in the Mail "Don't They Know There's A War On?" There's always a war on somewhere, but we're not it it. Where were we in Syria, for example.
(If you're not brave enough to look at the front page of the Mail, I fully understand. I have an exceptionally strong stomach due to all the horrors I pour into it.)

Put this into perspective the PM and the chancellor both broke their laws and lied multiple times about the situation when they knew damn well they were heading for fines and then stick 2 fingers up at the population they tell not to break the laws. Just shows how arrogant they are. And by the way would sunaks wife paid up on her own accord? Simple answer no.

My new Mr Man mug.
