Can't believe that evil scum like this will be allowed to walk the streets again!!

Imagine if your daughter brought him home to meet the family under his new identity..... The scum bag costs us a fortune.

Death would be a good way to start the ball rolling??

A bit like Dale Creegan I suppose?

I'm not defending Venables or Creegan here; but this knee jerk, hang-em-and-flog-em just reduces us down to their level, surely??
IMO, you have to look for something better than this.......I don't know what the answer is though tbh.
I think you have to consider, what if it was your son/daughter/relative who had done something truly terrible? Would you still be calling for their heads? What would you say to those wanting to take another life by way of retribution??
Wouldn't you want to get to the reasons and motivations for what they did? Wouldn't you want to see them rehabilitated??

The two mentioned cases are exceptional as (IMO anyway) there is no chance of one half of the point of sentencing being achieved. Venables has shown that he is incapable of being rehabilitated (if the press reporting of the last 10 years is even half way accurate). Cregan, well the poor man is clearly deranged beyond what medical science can control or fix.

So while one is serving and one has served the punitive part of their sentence, there is a problem. Rehabilitation is proved impossible.

Surely the only solution, given yours, BB, isn't going to make it back onto the statute book in their, or our, lifetimes is a return to secure segregated living. High security containment. Not a prison, he's done the punative bit, but containment. For his sake and ours.

I would like to have words with whoever is responsible for the decision to let him out again... it doesn't beggar belief, nothing much surprises me these days. It does however defy all known logic...

I like this approach.

It is probably true that his original rehabilitation was a failure. It was probably thought that if they were kept any longer that the likelihood of him becoming institutionalised would be increased, which is probably what has happened in his case, too many holidays to Wales trips and to Old Trafford. However he has served is time as per his sentencing and he is on a lifelong licence for which if he breaks conditions he will be held again.

The death penalty won't make the situation any better though it would save the taxpayer money.

Funny how you are not calling for the hanging of Robert Thompson who was the one who was the ringleader on that fateful day. He seems to have been forgotten about, rehabilitated or whatever. Or Mary Bell who killed two children on separate occasions at that age back in the 60's. She was rehabilitated back into society (though her identity was revealed on several occasions) had a family and has not re offended.

No, punished by death will do!!!

Plus Huntley, Sutcliffe, Whiting, Brady... etc, etc, etc..... The list is endless!!

As for Venables... He was released and re-arested for downloading images of children... He had a second chance and blown it away....
Never mind, third time lucky!!

Me Too. I would like to propose Gruinard Island of the north west cost of Scotland

You forgot to answer the other bit about it perhaps being your son/daughter/relative Barnsley Brewer??

Far too close to the mainland for my liking. Easily swimmable and no sharks.

I wonder if Sealand are looking for a new vertical market...
