Sorry, but violence is violence and has to be stopped well before someone is even hit, never mind murdered.
It can never be justified and the fact that we have an inadequate police presence is not an excuse for anyone to be violent towards their partner.

You were the one who brought violence and murder into this thread which was originally about Boris having an argument with his partner and as has been reported there was no violence and the police left it at that, no one here condones violence towards a partner (or anyone) we are talking about two people having a heated argument as I imagine most of us have had with our partners over the years.

Do you believe every time a couple argue they should be reported to the police and the police should visit their home just in case one day it goes too far and ends in murder?

Imagine how the neighbour would have felt if someone had been killed and he had failed to react, despite hearing the shouting and knocking on the door.

If Boris had been killed, then he and many others might have been delighted. Maybe he'd get a medal.

Allegedly the informant heard shouting and breaking glass, and nobody answered when they knocked round to make sure everything was OK. Of course it's right to call the police in that situation.

I believe they recorded the incident then went to the papers lovely neighbours they have.

It does not matter who finally makes it to No 10. The important thing is that whoever is there (from whatever party, colour, preference, or persuasion) must carry out the democratic will of the British people.

We were offered a referendum on our membership of Europe. At the time we were told that if the result was won by just ONE person in one direction or the other (I think the words Mr. Cameron used were "If one person more votes to stay in Europe, than chooses to leave, then that result must stand. This is a one time only choice you have to make"). However the difference was 2 million people more voted to leave than voted to remain - not an insignificant number. So Mr. Hunt voted to remain, is he to be trusted with this task?

My thoughts are that we must have someone who is firmly of the leave persuasion, otherwise we have no democracy and descend into anarchy.

Politicians an poltical parties have been ignoring the "democratic will of the people" for donkey's years. At election time, they put out a manifesto, get elected into power on the strength of that manifesto then promptly ignore all the manifesto promises and do what the feck they like. Why is the referendum result any different? "Will of the People" is just a clever and catchy soundbite dreamed up by a clever press officer, for use in a social media world where people have attention spans of goldfish and cant be bothered to look beyond headlines

He is candidate for a public office, to be a face of this country.I think anybody for that kinda of office should be clean and non-violent. This was just one occasion, I'm sure there were many. If my neighbours argue so much I can hear them through the wall and hear breaking glass, sure I call the police.
Never mind that, both are dodgy characters, let Boris be elected and let him make fool of himself = elections soon.

I see your point but in this case the people voted for a specific policy not someone with a manifesto.

The problem with the B word is that it's so all encompassing, it sucks the oxygen out of any discussion and touches on almost any thread on British politics. I'll shut up now before I get banned
