Fecking hot here in South Cumbria, lovely in the cab with the A/C on full but getting out is a nightmare.

Hell's Bells. Getting the cider up from the garage to restock the fridge is such an effort!
42.6 on the terrace in the shade of the parasol.

Water restrictions now in force: watering veg garden between 10am and 8pm forbidden, rest of garden between 8 am and 8pm forbidden, washing car, boat and filling pool forbidden. Factories must reduce usage by 5%. Beer brewed during the day must be allowed to cool naturally overnight, nubile neighbours refusing to share a shower forbidden. And that's only Level 2 out of 4 levels.

I definitely don’t envy you in that heat. It’s only 36 here and that’s already uncomfortable.

Nah, we're ok indoors. the walls are a metre thick stone then a good layer of rockwool underneath the dry lining. We keep one room (the room with the TV) airconditioned. For the dog, of course, we're not snowflakes, and keeping the curtains drawn on the sunny side means the house is a constant 26C at this time of the day. The dark, shadowy areas where I keep the beer has reached the dizzy heights of 22, though. It gets a bit hotter upstairs, but by bedtime, with the windows all open its down to a good temperature even if the place is full of bats.
It cools down at night to the mid teens. If it didn't, the stone would warm up and it would be like having storage heating on all the time. My lad's in Madrid. a couple of degrees warmer but it stays hot at night. Now that would be a problem. We'd have to drink twice as much.

That sounds better than I’d imagined. It’s 27 indoors here, our walls are a bit less defensive!

A big glass of MYO Red Wine, brewed light to about 4% and chilled in the fridge, is going down well!

SWMBO seems happy enough with the current temperature, so life doesn’t get much better than this!
athumb..

That’s why I’m not likely to spoil the moment by suggesting that I share a shower (see previous by @An Ankoù ) with a nubile neighbour!

It's not about personal preferences, Dutto. We all have to make sacrifices for the common good when the chips are down.

Which Is why I have taken both my draught beers off and piped tap water through all three coils on my chiller for the family. Oh the humanity!
