Hi all,
(OMG! Brian's into one now!! Please forgive me lol)
For the last 4 days I go back and look at the Braumeister and the operation of it.
Not confused..I don't think! For me I'm chuffed with my GF and the setup!
But the BM catches my eye every time I see the recurtilateing wort rise up and pour ova the grain bed!!
I'm fascinated tbh!
Looking at the mash steps and most do a 90 mins boil (still learning what it can do)
Am I right saying the GF is well documented ova the BM and any probs have been solved with the makers?
Mash, boil and recipe profile I had to look at.
Seems to me I could be a collector of 'must have' new toys!
I'm like a magpie shiny shiny or Money burning n my pocket ever month.
Could I honestly say another AG setup is overkill?
Or would I regret it lol
The thing is for those that have one or had experienced a GF aswell..would it be the way ahead...remembering my disibilty aswell?
Just chewing the fat!
But it is a beautiful beast!!!
Mind I'd have to make a hoist for the grain basket....
Thx for viewing my dribble!
Bri

Bri, has your GF got the connect box ? if not you need this in your life.
If you really want a twin set up then get the grainbrother, its a grainfather minus the mash basket and chiller around £300.00

Guys!
I found the answer...the Bluetooth controller & a heat jacket for the GF.
Spending money is my addiction as some know!!! I'm been good this month..a holiday aswell this week...and nuff savings for the GF stuff I hope..
Thanks for the help!
Hope you don't think this thread is a waste of time...sometimes I need a gentle push in the right direction..
Without your help n advice I might of bought one and where would I be!!:doh:
Thank you
Bri

Just to throw a spanner in the works -

You could always sell the GF and put the money towards a BM the older ones are still fetching £550+ on ebay.

The guy in the video says he prefers the BM especially the pump not blocking and the ease of use the downside being the price.

.

Do you have a fermentation fridge?

I believe that imake have upgraded the filter since this video. I think an older BM would be a step back compared to a GF with connect

A guy on Jim's is selling a 4 brews old Braumeister for 900 quid if you're quick. It's in Warwick mind and someone has already shown an interest.
Personally though, I don't see what makes them any better than a Grainfather Connect and they're stupidly expensive.

They do look better quality from the pictures, the Grainfather is not thick steel like some of the guys 3 vessel systems, the Braumeister looks like it might be.

Apart from the sharpish edges on the legs, and the wifi unit, which I find is too intermittent. I'd still reckon it's a great piece of kit.

Thx pal,
Since I had to make a decision of either setups, and the YouTube Vidio..there's a lot documented facts about the Braumeister...a lot brewdays and a lot of tinkering..just like the GF.
Like I admitted could it be a overkill! Ok two setups that do the same thing...
But I think my battered brain was fascinated with the operation of the BM..
Tbh I've got the gf setup so far within hair of what I want to achieve!!
Ease of one handed operation..and getting used of it!!
I don't go into the brewhouse efficacy stuff...but with all the stages getting right
There's was only one bad brewday!! That's was the first time I used the hops loose and the pump got clocked!! And I panicked..one handed and lack of experience with how to remedy the prob (and late at night and needing my meds)
The prob with the pump is documented well on this forum.
Shiny shiny....and 'must have one' is gone!! Honest.. lol
Grain jacket...wifi controller isn't mind...
Thx all for taking time to explain the BM fully.
Bet you all are waiting for Bri's must have!
Bri

I've just picked up a Braumeister and it's an awesome bit of kit but as others have said there's not a lot of point getting it if you already have the GF.
