sorry for the noob question but i started a coppers mexican cerveza kit on the 5th of may and i checked the hydrometer yesterday and got a reading of 1.010.

i read that lager should be 1.010 is this right? I checked again and its still 1.010, so it this now ok to bottle or am i better leaving it a few more days?

is there any harm in leaving it longer? as ive head leave it 2 week in the fv,.... if its finished will i harm it by leaving it until say friday?

cheers, any advice welcome

looks like its finished, try and move your fermenter to a cooler spot for a few days so yeasts can finish working and drop out of suspension. Then you can either rack to a clean fermenter for another week or straight into the bottle or keg.

No harm in leaving it at all. My last one I moved to somewhere colder (coldest I could get was around 14 degrees) and it seemed to clear up alot in the last 4 days (warm for 10, cold for 4).

If you are going to move it somewhere cold, ideally it should be somewhere you can bottle from without moving again, so if you have a tap, make sure theres enough space below for the bottles and a bottling wand (pressuming you have one) to fit under. I stood it on a chair, but this wasn't high enough when I came to bottle, so I had to lift the chair with the FV on it, on to a box. Quite heavy, and although I did it as delicately as possible, it may have disturbed some of the sediment, and maybe affect the clarity... that's just a guess mind... never mind, lesson learnt.

By the way, the beer i've just bottled is the youngs harvest lager. I got it on offer at tescos for £2.78 ish from tesco direct a few weeks ago and used a kg of brewing sugar and some left over beer enhancer. It was primed with granulated sugar, so costs about 12p a pint.... if its half decent, i'll be made up lol.

Do this ^^

Made a big difference to my last few brews, they cleared up a lot quicker....
