Hi, complete n00b, just got my first brew on the go, I started on saturday with a coopers lager using the coopers new kit. the fermenter has been sat in our utilityroom undisturbed at a pretty constant 24c (which going on the instructions is perfectly between 21 and 27.)
I was very very careful with the cleaning. the wort was darker than I expected but lightened overnight og was 1.036, i removed the krausen (sp?) collar today because the kit says "on day 3, or when the foam has subsided" - both of which were the case.
it doesnt appear to be doing a great deal, no major visible bubbling, but there is a thin "head" on top of the liquid. I just took the hydrometer reading right now and its at 1.014.
i'm hopefully worrying about nothing - but a couple of things are concerning me
1. its still very cloudy, even in the hydrometer - is this normal?
2. no major sign of bubbling - is this normal?
3. there is a good 1/2" or more of "sediment" at the bottom - is this normal?
i havent lifted the lid, other than to remove the collar, and i did this gently. if i put my close close to the seal on the lid - it actually smells rather nice.
sorry if i have put this in the wrong section, or posted n00bish questions that are answered all over the place - i just want to know wether I have cocked it up, or if I should just sit and be patient.
coupla photos if it helps
