Hi All,

I am brewing a kit called "Homewrecker". I started on Sat 10th Jan, it took a while to get going as temp is 17c

The beer is now flat in the hydrometer and is 1011

It was 1011 sunday AM as well

before that it was 1012 on friday and 1013 on thursday

the kit says that 1009 is the target

should i barrell tonight???

I've never had a kit get down to 1.009 - I'd say get it kegged!

all done, the keg is in a spot with 17c temp - how long shall i leave it before taking it somewhere cooler

thanks again

I normally leave mine like that for 5 to 7 days then transfer somewhere cooler :thumb:

The age old question

It depends on a number of factors that lots of people go on about.

For me, I drink it when it tastes good :thumb:

Of course you do always pour the last pint and say - damn, I wish i'd left it a month

Rule of thumb, 1 week in the keg per 10 OG (Original Gravity) points so a 1.040 beer leave for 4 weeks and a 1.050 beer leave for 5.

Personally though I think that you should try it each week and you decide when you think it's ready :thumb:

i guess the extra weeks take the edge of it, its certainly a bit ripe at the mo

 It's quite acceptable to have a sampler just to see how it's doing. It would be rude not to :? :thumb:
