I am still relatively new to home brewing having now made 5 AG batches using the MiBrewery from BeerTorrent all in one system. Each beer has tasted amazing (genuinely it has surpassed my expectations) however I feel I am doing something wrong with the secondary fermentation.
I am currently racking into King Keg pressure barrels and adding around 140g brewing sugar dissolved in hot water however if it wasn’t for the added CO2 canisters my beer would be pretty much flat. One suggestion has been to rack into the keg after 5/6 days fermenting as currently I’m sticking to 2 weeks in the FV.
Could this be the solution or else what am I doing wrong???

Your sugar quantity is fine. You should get carbonation from that.

What temperature are you leaving the KK at and how long? It'll need a couple of weeks at fermentation temperature.

Does it lose pressure over time even after you add gas? Could be that the keg has a lid leak. They're notorious for that.
 
Could be a leak. I prime in the keg with 80g sugar and purge any air with a blast of co2 with the lid loose. Leave 2 to 4 weeks
 
Thanks guys. I’m thinking it could be an issue with my keg then however I’m just at Wembley for the Play- Off final having a pint of Hobgobin......mine isn’t so bad after all!!!

Can't add much but kegging early won't help and is a technique only really suited to casks and you need to know exactly where the FG will be. Also I use 80-90g of sugar for a normal king keg.
 
When the keg is next empty, try doing a pressure test, assuming it has an injector fitted. Fill it to normal level with water and gas it, then leave for a day and check to see if it still has pressure remaining. If not, it's leaking! There are various threads explaining how to deal with a leaking lid.

That's ten times the sugar I use to prime a 20L Corny keg. If I used 140g I'd have a fire extinguisher.

Your keg lid is leaking pressure. The O-ring must be lubricated (petroleum jelly or like - you can get food grade - use a light smear to help the O-ring seal, don't use loads thinking the stuff seals the leaks itself). Or there is loads of advise on the Web (and this forum) for sealing these kegs.

It's 2.4 volumes, that's nothing for a corny. Have you got a 5cm length of pipe to your tap or something?

I primed a 50l keg with 400g of sugar the other day and left it out in the sun after racking the 1°c cold crashed boozes into it to get it to a reasonable temperature. Even after an afternoon it forced itself out of a closed picnic tap. Don't fret - it wasn't a real beer - just a chugger for drunkery.

Just illustrating that the lid (or something) is most certainly leaking. 140g produces enough gas to accelerate a small rocket to escape velocity. I wasn't suggesting that 14g sugar is enough priming sugar - that's a personal preference ("2.4 volumes" is definitely not my preference!).
