Surely this takes away everything that homebrewing is about!!!

Nothing beats the smell and taste of the wort in my garage when mashing.

How can it? In effect it is kit brewing but the kit wort is of much higher quality and fresher than any you would get in a tin . . . OK at 24 quid it's more expensive than most kits on the market, but the quality of the beer is more than worth it.

OK
I suppose you're right really, will get off my high horse.
Although because I have only ever brewed all grain I can still claim the enjoyment peolpe are missing out on :thumb:

I think I would be dead chuffed to brew one of Alemans eh his friends beers :thumb: :thumb: especially his RIS.

whilst i would dearly love to brew in the garage i have a few small issues.
mid terrece rabbit hutch house no garden shed no garage no any thing, every thing has to be done in the kitchen at night as the kids are about durring the day, also no big pots or pans to brew in, so apart from all that every thing is spot on.

we use kits because its easy and cheap, throw the lot into a bucket then throw it into bottles and then throw it down throat, simpleees

and to that a slight shortage of funds to buy all the kit and one is a little tied back.

the brewery idea appeals because they are less than 30mins away, and we have a couple of five gallon barrels to carry wort in and £24 for five gallons of the freshest wort oin the planet sound far to us.

hopefully buy the end of this year we will have brought the big pots and buckets etc to start All Grain beer but not yet

ps. i am dead jelous of those of you with men sheds with manly brewing kit in, big green eyes

Agree with what our saying hp - I've only been doing this for a couple of month so kits is obvious starting point but would love to do AG, even more so now I have used (and tasted) REAL wort but I don't have the finance nor the space at the moment. Anyway, this was never going to be aimed at AG brewers but at kit brewers and in my experience, has produced far better results than the kits in significantly less time.

No, not at all!
Discussion is what this Forum is all about!!
If you disagree, say so, I do agree about the "high horse" bit, as no matter how right you think you are, it's still just your opinion.
Suppose that's rich coming from me!
This country is run by debate, just as this Forum should be!
Each to his/her own and let each enjoy and talk about it, if we are happy with what we do, we're not missing out on anything.
