Hello all,

I've done 3 AG brews so far and haven't yet used Irish moss. I believe it is used at the end of the boil to clump together tannins and proteins to help produce a clearer beer.

My question is, obviously it helps towards a clearer beer, but does it have any impact on taste?

I'd much prefer a slightly cloudier beer with more taste than the other way round...

What experience do you guys have?

Its a natural ingredient, so it should not "**** up" the taste in a chemical way... If you use the correct amount, it should be so little that it would be impossible to taste it... If anything, it adds a salty taste when over used...

Same thing, protofloc is like a concentrated version, you only need to use half a tab per 23l batch though.
