Irish moss or bentonite?

As I was told in an earlier thread about no Protofloc in a brew

it'll be alright mate, it's not essential. you might consider an extra clarifying step later on though - finings or a secondary to clear

Thanks for the offer mate but im working till 430 so by the time ive got to you then back home ill be brewing late into the night(again!) which means upsetting swmbo :-? Thanks anyway

I always transfer to secondary anyway as its my bottling bucket but the previous brews I did(both kits) never cleared. Might just try using finings when in secondary :cheers:
 
I used bentonite last night for 2 5 gallon batches in secondary. read around and was told 4 grams for 200ml of boiling water per 5 gallon. the stuff is like tar and clumps like **** tho. seems to be just sitting at the bottom of the fermenter today. prob won't use again or find out if theirs tricks to making it easier to use.
