Inkbird 308 wifi with Heating Wrap Mat

Has anyone tired using the Inkbird 310 Wifi with 30w Heating Wrap Mat around a carboy.

Just need a little temp control for diacetyl rest.

Just thought I could stick the probe in the carboy and the belt would gently warm..

Any thoughts?

I remember a member using a reptile heat pad in the same way and he said it worked fine.

Stick a piece of foam to the carboy and put the probe behind it.

I use heating tape and strap it to the fermenter and duct tape the probe onto the side as well sometimes insulate the probe with a towel with duct tape too. Works great.

mine is not wifi though.

I do something similar in that I duct tape the probe to the side and then duct tape some bubble-wrap over it to act as insulation.

Exactly what I do buddy. Inkbird probe attached to the outside of my fermzilla. Then a roll (slightly less then a full roll) of the foil bubble wrap stuff, fits very neatly and tight with the heat mat slipped other side of the fermzilla where probe is.

Works a treat.

One less thing to put in beer. Plus the temperature diff is very slight so may as well keep outside if probe is insulated too
