Hi fellow brewers !

I'm a home brewer virgin with "all the gear but some degree of an idea" as to what i should be doing and what will make it a success
I've spent some time reading many of the the posts and advice already shared and in parallel, am constructing a number of questions that still remain in my head to be shared with the HBF massive very soon !

I'll be honest...i have a mate who does homebrew and his output has been pretty good but i'm a competitive sort and so am wanting to blow his brews out of the water with some stellar beer allowing me to do this to him
You're valuable input will therefore be required !

i'm an ale drinker and will try pretty much anything if i'm being honest
my first home brew is a the Ruby Red from St Peters which seems to have good reports so looking forward to starting
