Probably one of the most important guides I have made for some, this guide handles the tricky subject of how to buy Homebrew gear and stay married.

This guide tackles the awkward start where you need to at first convince your wife all the way to veterans who wish to continue adding to their collection of homebrew related products.

This is not to be taken very seriously of course!

"An extra fridge" - hmmm, I just bought my 4th extra fridge on saturday, thats 6 in the house now... and a keezer in the kitchen.
Thankfully my soon to be wife is terrible at maths and as soon as I start "explaining" how it is still saving money she loses interest and insists I keep making raspberry beer. The hop freezer is next but this was an easy sell, "great! does that mean you will take all the hops out the freezer, I can go pick it up if you want".

I think you missed a trick here. Surely a good tip would be to say to your wife "I have a consultancy agreement with the makers of the Grainfather and they send me all the stuff for free..."

Quite often I get to justify purchases by pointing out that the new equipment will save time and therefore I get to spend a bit more time with my wife as a result.

Just told my wife I bought a premium corny keg setup. When I told her how much, she just said, "Well at least you're getting something that'll last. Easy to squander that money."

Definitely a keeper. She also didn't chuck me out when one of my minikegs failed in the house last week.

I particularly like "Drinking beer every day is healthier than being dead". Laughed out loud at that particular observation. Especially as the BBC promulgate this sort of stuff several times a day, with the expectation that their subjects (or viewers, as they used to be known) will believe it!

I think you may of missed a fact though and that is that GF do not hand out free stuff to anyone.
Sure I did some "non video related work" with them, this was common knowledge within the GF community before, during and after.
It has to be pretty obvious that it is hard to hide when you are doing seminars to thousands around the world.
It certainly would have been a nice trick though I agree!
What is even more amusing is that anyone who gives a product a favourable review online is held with complete suspicion on the internet.
Outside of the internet people are just not like that.
If you asked a random brewer what he uses to brew with and if he was very happy with it, would you then accuse him of working for that company? I think not.
