Same. The current one has taken three weeks and I'm itching to get the next one on. Likewise, I've thought about a second FV, but I'd not get away with another one being in the spare room and I wouldn't be able to keep up drinking wise.

How long have you been brewing for? I love it, but wonder if the novelty wears off where I haven't always got something fermenting.

Only since August last year although I've got a list of 12 brews I want to do so that'll stop me getting bored for at least 24 weeks and I'm pretty certain the list will just keep on growing.
 
Pretty much every month, I did a few back to back ones so I have had a break over June while my 2nd half of my DIPA is on a long ferment and about to be bottled

I will get back on the horse July infact Intend to get a boiler to do full volume .. not sure what to do, either a whitbier or Saison

I love a brew day and planning a brew day so these past few weeks have been busy but I have missed the enjoyment of mashing and boiling and smelling fresh hops as they go in.
 
I think when i was doing kits it was about 3 a month but i was leaving them for about 3 weeks in FV. I have started AG now but only small batches till i am sure i know what I'm doing. This week i have bottled 3 brews and made 2 and planning maybe another 1 or 2 next week before bottling the ones on the week after. I do drink a fair bit so i need to brew bigger batches or what i was planning was to make a few kits at same time to keep a good stock and be able to have different beers to drink throughout the week
 
Twice a month for me. I'm fortunate enough to have a garage so storage is ok. Would like to have another fridge setup so I can have one purely for fermentation and another for conditioning but that's a way off yet...
 
Since i came across the "simple all grain" thread i have done 13 AG brews since 22nd May and about 3 kits. I keep dreaming about hops in the mornings as well. Oh dear. Cheers clibit :drink:

I take it a lot of the AG ones were 1G
 
I seem to drink a lot more beer in the winter than I do in summer. In winter I was brewing every 2 weeks. Now it's summer, I'm brewing a lot less. Last brew was done on 16/5 and I'm going to be brewing again next week, so that's six weeks
 
since ive started the one gallon biab brews, im doing then constantly when i have a free demi john (i have three) so generaly getting 3 done every five or six weeks. i wanna get a couple more so i can see if there is much difference in racking to a secondry. im trying to build up a good stock of different styles currently lager but i got some wheat malt the other day and i really wanna coach myself into drinking ales cos there seems to be so much more choice in pubs for ales. lagers usually are just your generic tennents, stella and bud type of affairs which are so similer anyway

I've only been drinking beer about 5 year (I'm 42). I tell you how I learned.

I used to working in a bar/night club and after a hard shift the manager would let us drink either 1or 2 free pints or as much as we could drink before the taxi's came to take us home (we usually only had about 20 mins or so before they arrived so some serious binge drinking went on). As It was an irish pub it was usaually only Guiness we were allowed to drink.

At the time I didn't drink beer and felt as though I was missing out, especially after a hard shift. So what I started off doing was drinking Guiness and black (current cordial). At first It was only a half pint and that half pint was about half full of cordial and I could only drink a few mouthfuls of it. But I was determined to 'train' myself onto beer. After a few weeks of doing this I would put less and less black current in the Guiness. Eventually I was just drinking Guiness with no black current in it.

By the time I left that job, I was usually the first to run down to the taps to start the after work session

I imagine you could do something similar with lemonade and ale. Just make up an ale shandy and over time put less and less lemonade in there, until eventually your on here asking about how you go about making 9% Double IPA
 
i think its the carbonation that puts me off i like fizz in my beers. ill get on the guiness and ill brew a few ales but just carbonate them a bit more like a lager

How about making a highly carbonated IPA? Theonly difference between an IPA and Lager is the yeast used and the method used to ferment/condition
 
I did my first brew last November and am about to do my 5th (Better Brew Czech Pilsner) this weekend, so I am not so prolific as some people on this forum!
Limiting factors are:
  • I only drink on average 2 or 3 pints a week :-(
  • I have a finite number of empty bottles
  • It takes me forever to decide what my next brew will be...
 
I don't brew often enough for my liking but a combination of wife/kids disliking the time and smells, and a lack of space for fvs means I probably have been averaging one a month. I'm not keeping up with the drinking though, got far too much to get through over summer!
 
Yeah, I'm aboot every three weeks. I've got a nice Light (low calorie) lager lined up for next weekend. That's if I can get my new (2nd) shed up in time for my new lagering fridge!

Got the recipe here if anyone would like it.
