Just checked on my latest batch and I reckon middle to end of next week I shall be bottling.

I am out of my previous batch of Woodfordes Wherry, but do have an abundance of alchol left over from Xmas, however, I would like to have readily available a bottle of home brew always ready to be drunk.

Therefore my question is on average how long after transferring brews to bottle do you leave it to start brewing the next batch. The problem is, as I see it, if I have 1 Fermentation vessel and start brewing a new batch immediately after bottling, I can see I'm going to need a lot of bottles. I'm guessing around time of drinking new batch then start another one off, am I right? I know this will all be dependant on how much I/you drink, so just trying to get an average.

I should put one on as soon as I've bottled a batch but I rarely do, usually about two weeks later. So I do end up buying quite a bit from supermarkets.
Its getting time for me as I spend quite a bit brewing wows and ciders too.

Currently back to to partials a month. Destroyed the stocks over xmas and now rebuilding for summer.
Have around 160 bottles left and will double that plus more before the warm weather BBQ season as I don't want to brew over the warmer months...

Good point above...brewing in the warmer months can be awkward unless you have temp control or no chill. So crack on and get some reserves built up.

Approximately every three weeks, 21 bottles (33 cl). But sometimes it gets delayed or shifted to a later date. I don't brew in summer, but I do try to have one last brew in June for after summer. The volume can also increase (a little bit) when I want to brew something special or something that tasted well.

So if you do not own some kind of chiller at what point do you have to stop brewing during the year as temperature to hot for brewing?

I don't have a brew fridge and once I struggle to keep my brews between 20 and 22 degrees in the FV, I stop brewing.

That is why I like to hammer the brews now up to Easter (later this year) and build the stocks up.

Right, that's settled then for me, invest in more bottles and get brewing. The wife is just going to have get used to more bottles.

About once a month, although I didn’t brew between June and November because of holidays then moving house.

Bottles are certainly a pain as they take up far too much space - does anybody have any ingenious solutions? My stocks are very low following Christmas and I've got a new Grainfather to play with so I'm going to brew at least every other week for the next couple of months.

Invest in a decent capper then you have unlimited bottles. Either collect them yourself, ask a local pub for empties or get all your mates saving them for you. I ended up with so many bottles I could afford to be picky and keep only ones I liked, I have 10 corny kegs now so dont bottle much

Good point, one of my sons mates girlfriend parents own a pub. Time to call in some favours for all the lifts I have given them.

5L Easy Kegs/minikegs - 6 quid each from Geterbrewed, slightly more on BrewUk. Either use the integrated tap (but each 5L keg needs to be consumed in 2-3 days) or get a party star tap (or get a fancy keg dispenser, I have a Klarstein Skal) and the beer will last for weeks or months!

I have this system. https://www.philips.co.uk/c-p/HD3620_21/perfectdraft-home-draught-system Really enjoying brewing my own, currently drinking a Leffe Blond from the Perfect Draft now as no home brew left.

I have 100's of Kopparberg and 100's of brown bottles from my local pubs.
Spent pretty much last year once a week collecting them after work (before bottle bin day)
Buy some crates (20 x 500ml) which stack up and they don't take too much room at all if you have a garage.
I have around 20 crates which around 10 are full of empties ready to be filled. The other 10 or so are full, along with a few shelves in the garage.

NOT ENOUGH is the only acceptable answer:laugh8:

Sadly just about twice a month with my work schedule and limited fermenting space.
