Hi...

I should be ready to keg a batch of Geordie Lager in a day or two and was just unsure as to how much priming sugar to use in a 23 litre keg? I have decided to use a brewing sugar to prime with (Dextrose Monohydrate) and not having used this before I was just looking for any advice if anyone has used this in the past?

Thanks

hi well if its a lager you will need more priming sugar than a keg allows , such as cheaper kegs have a max of 85g of sugar while king kegs will have 125g of sugar but for a 23l batch of lager you need around 150/180g , so go for the max allowed for your keg , it will be ok just not as fizzy as you may want it.
