Hi,
I've had a Woodfordes Great Eastern Ale kit fermenting for 10 days now, the SG has levelled out to 1012 but there's still loads of crud floating on the surface. My first kit had a few lumps floating around, which I fished out before racking, but this one has loads of smaller rice grain size bits which will be a pain to get out!
Just wondering how much float stuff is normal and how you go about removing it without aerating the brew? Am I being impatient, is it likely to clear if I give it a few more days? The samples I being taking look pretty clear, it's just the bits on the surface I'm worried about.
Ta.
