I put all my beer into king kegs as i cant do with the faff of bottling!
How many kegs do you have on the go at any one time?
I have 3 but this seems to leave me a bit short ie one for a session ale, one for a stout, one conditioning
interested to know what others do and whether to buy more or consider casks? :wha:

Hi Tim,

I use a mixture of KingKegs (2), Cornelius Kegs (3) and bottles.
The KingKegs are a hangover from my early days....but they are proving again to be good companions.
I decided to get some Cornelius kegs to (a) give me more storage and (b) allow me to force carbonate beers.
Cornelius kegs are a bit more expensive to set up as you need to buy a gas bottle and a regulator. But, the kegs themsleves are cheaper than Kingkegs and are very robust.

I still bottle a lot of beer as this gives me better cooling options in the summer and I also give a lot of beer away to friends.

Happy brews :D

I'd like to find enough time to have 6 beers/ciders on the go at any one time . . . Which means I'd only really need 12 Cornii . .. but being numerically dyslexic I have 21  . . . however in the cunning plan stage I intend to get a dual Pepsi fridge which should be able to take 12 Kegs

I only have the one now....my other sprang a leak with a maturing ale in it, my last kit was that. I'm getting through it but know that it will go off at any moment. My king keg top tap remains empty as I am really quite wary of barrelling now I have gone all grain, I find barrels hard to clean and unreliable. If anything goes wrong thats all the brew gone whereas with bottles you have the safety factor of numbers. That said I cannot abide my king keg siting there unused so 'm gonna do a brew for it some day soon, it just has to be something I can drink quickly! A wherry clone or similar? Hmmm.

yep, if something does go wrong you do lose the lot
Not great if you've spent all day doing a AG :?
But, touch wood, i've escaped any problems so far

Do those come along often? I've only seen one big Beer fridge outside a bargain Booze shop in Whitby, was going free to whoever took it. I didn't even brew then though :(

1 ready to drink, 1 priming, and 1 spare, probably cider if the missis likes it homemade.
also have some wine clearing..............eventully

I saw that! I spent most of that weekend working out how to fix it to the car and get it back to Wales. She put a stop to that though.

since I´m a Pils drinker and Pilseners need at least 4 weeks lagering, I have 18 Cornelius kegs in circulation.

18 corny kegs ?????
Sound like you a running your own pub mate.

Hi,
I've got 7 corney kegs and about a 100 brown bottles in newky brown crates!
Only seem to have about 3 cornies full at any given time and 50 bottles.

I've got 16 cornii. The theory was to have 4 on tap at any one time from my kegerator and have the rest maturing...it never seems to happen though
I also bottle beers to see how they mature..though I always seem to run out of corny'd beer and the bottles are then fair game :drink:

I've just "acquired" another two.

They're a little sick though and need some TLC before they can be up and about again. Poor babies.

Take good care of those babies James, a little tender love and care is required ;).

How about a few pics of the before and after???
