My boiler died today 15 mins into the boil. Seems like I'll have to take it to a shop to get it fixed. I cooled the wort, filtered the hops out and transferred to FV. I reckon it will be at least a couple of days until I get the boiler back, possibly longer if the shops have to order spare parts. Is there any way I could still use the wort after this time or should I just admit defeat? I have the chance to take the FV to my unheated attic storage space (+5C or so). Sigh.

freeze it?

5c should keep the nasties at bay for a day or so especially as it hit boil before hand, and you will be reboiling. Just keep it air tight.

worth a try anyhow.

^ I'm afraid I have no means to freeze the batch. I took it up the the attic and fitted an air lock. We'll see... I hope my yeast starter will be ok to use as well.
