How cold ??

Finally got a fridge of freecycle :party: so I'm going to cold condition my last brew as I used S-05 and want to try and get it clear what temp do I need to get the fridge at and how long does it need to be conditioned for?

As cold as it will go . . . Ideally around 1C if you can get it there . . . . How long? Until it drops bright . . .Of course if you end up with a chill haze you may never see it turn bright

Its running at -2 at the moment so i'll try and adjust it to get 1c and leave it a couple of weeks

What causes chill haze?

The short answer is that it's proteins coming out of suspension due to the cold.

So i'll keep it fridged for a few weeks pour a pint and let it warm up what temp should the chill haze dissapear?

At about the right temperature to enjoy a beer :lol:

Can't say. There's no hard and fast rule. If you keep it stupidly cold for a while, it will eventually settle out and you could rack the beer off bright (one of the purposes of lagering).
