I have been making some good brews from premium kits and putting them in a 5 Gal King Keg White Bottom Tap Barrel. The problem is when I pour a pint it sprays out of the tap and I have to leave it for ages to let the head subside. Should I attach some kind of tube so that it goes to the bottom of the glass?

You got the keg pressurised with gas? The KingKeg taps are not the best, and when your brew is well pressurised it can be tricky to get a decent pint straight from the keg because you have too much pressure in the keg. Initially you could draw your brew off into a jug until the natural pressure decreases, then ease the pressure back into the keg with your gas if you have it (you will need it at the point your brew stops coming out of your tap!)

Before my KingKeg split and released 21 pints all over my carpet (see 'oldstouts disaster' thread   ) I would ease the tap open and pour very slowly into my glass :thumb:

I have one and I just pour very slowly. Otherwise you just end up with a flat pint.

The is a YouTube video where someone has just attached a short piece of hose to the tap, it seems to work but I haven't tried it myself.

Oh.......

One more thing

....... try and remember to revisit your original FIRST post on THBF to check for replies and acknowledge the fact others have tried to give you the advice you asked for ;)

Try not to have to much pressure in the keg, you might need to release a little pressure then re-gas when your done..

It can spray a bit from the King Keg, but that just means your natural carbonation has worked well, and you'll get plenty of pints out of the keg just with the natural pressure - great!

Just pour as slowly as you can - patience is one of the brewers most valuable gifts :thumb:

The jug idea is also a good one if you're going to enjoy a few pints :drink:

Turkey baster :thumb:

Attach a nozzle from a turkey baster to the tap and you'll get perfect pints everytime.

Yeah thats it I cut mine down shorter and attached it with a lenght of pipe. Certainly made the pints better at dispensing.

That sounds great. Does the tube reach down to the bottom of the glass?
