How can I carbonate it at a later stage?

So with regards to this thread http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/showthread.php?p=568991#post568991 where I tried those metal brackets that turn normal bottles into swing tops I ended up with a really nice stout that is totally flat. The stout has been in the bottle now for two weeks (and I think I left it in the primary for 3 weeks) - it really is too nice to be thrown away but I need to carbonate it somehow.

What can I do?

If you are able to cap the bottles it'll carbonate eventually on its own without adding more priming sugar. Not sure how long it will take though

Well it does have a slight fizz, but really not much. I guess I could get a capper... I usually use swing tops so don't wanna spend too much on a capper. Any tips on cheaper ones?

the £10 ones from either wilko or tesco. There identical and last about a year (at least my last one did until I bought a new one)

You could look at getting 40 odd PET bottles to salvage this brew, I think Homebrew online have them on sale at the moment. I know plastic's not everybody's first choice but they might save this brew and come in handy at some point in the future.

I guess I could move them over into the swing tops I have now but I'll need some caps sooner or later for other brews and can't be asked making a mess now.

What about those kegs? Don't some carbonate with CO2?

Okay, so should I just put some crown caps on the bottles now then or should I add some more priming sugar?

Any idea how long it might take to fizz up?

I notice you advertising for a capper. I dont see the point of balancing the crown caps on the bottles if you haven't got a capper

I will get a capper :) I actually might take the add down and just buy a cheap one online.

No, I was wondering about what to do when I do have the capper and caps. Should I prime it again or maybe "half prime" it or should I really just leave it as it? And how long would it take for it to fizz up when properly sealed?

Just to be on the safe side I'd half prime it. It should take about 1- 2 weeks to carb up

okay i will add half the priming sugar then. The bottles are currently out in the cold garage - should I bring them back in for a week or two for the carbonation?

Pet bottles are a good alternative to the glass bottle as they are light weight and dry off much quicker than glass which are brown , I do my Lager in this type and use carbonating drops its like solid Carbondyoxide which power it with plenty of fizz , the other alterative is to keg the lot and force carbonate it...

Okay so thanks for parcelforce being a) the slowest courier ever and b) just plain stupid, I won't get my capper until Tuesday at best ("We missed you so will try again to deliver tomorrow, except for weekends and bank holidays") - they seem to always come in the morning, the only time when I have to be out of the house, bringing my partner to work!

So... what do you think... will I then stand a chance that it will still fizz up, or will fermentation then be done and dusted?

edit: It was a different parcel, I now have the capper and co. Will it be okay tomorrow?

What do you mean with dry off? I have not read good things about glass bottles, the white/clear type, actually, unless you store them in the pitch black. (sunlight flavour https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lichtgeschmack)
