So you may have seen on my London porter post that a cracked open my first bottle this evening. It's still a bit 'young' as I only bottled it 2 weeks ago. The colour is as expected and it's lightly carbonated in keeping with the style. My only criticism is the bitterness from the hops which is really prominent in the aftertaste. I only added what was provided in the kit so I'm wondering if it will settle down over time? I've not used hop pellets in a brew before so not sure about their typical properties. Can I expect them to fade a bit or will they just stay the same?

It will completely change given a bit of time. I bottled a pilsner a few weeks back and being impatient tried a bottle after 8 days in the bottle and thought ‘that’s not great’... tried it again tonight and it’s fantastic. Give it a bit of time 👍

Checked and it was 50g of hops pellets which were added for 5 days to approx 22l of brew. This is what was supplied.

Yes that's what was supplied and advised on the instructions. Hoping it settles down a bit as the bitterness is strong.

I'll be interested to hear how it turns out, give it a couple of week and I'm sure it will settle down.

Difficult I know!
