Hello.

Thinking about giving some of these a go and wondered if anyone had any experience using them. http://www.brauundrauchshop.ch/categories-40-1/hopfentabletten/?ica=12

They sound like a hoppy alkaseltzer and if they are any good would make dry-hopping an absolute doddle.

Unless someone puts me off, I'll get some next time I'm getting the ingredients in and report back...

:hat:

i've used simply hops PHA® Classic citrusy and PHA® Classic cascade hop extract to a 5th of a few of my brews with good results
it changes the beers profile abit and would not use in a full brew
used at bottling day

the product you mention needs to be in dry hop for 2 to 3 days meaning you are forced to experiment on your whole brew!
unless you split your secondary into 2

Revolutionary new product: hop oil in effervescent tablet form with many benefits compared to traditional hop oils. Allows the simple adding of hop aroma to your beer without increasing the bitterness. Ideal for dry hops. Indicative dose: 0.5 tablet / 50 litres of beer. The effervescent tablet gradually dissolves over 2-3 days.
long storage life
good solubility in beer
easy to dose
so will be difficult to split your brew and make comparisons
also there is no mention of what hops they use?

compare try and leave feedback if you take the plunge
i know http://www.simplyhops.co.uk/hop-extracts
are quite pricy but work prior to bottling or even 1/2 a drop straight into your glass of beer down the pub adds crazy hop aroma and flavour

Thanks, I must say, taking some hop essence into the pub to improve a pint sounds like fun. Might look a little dodgey, standing there with a pipette over a beer mind...

I'll give the alkaselzer hop tablets a go when i next stock up. Will let you know how it works out.

cheers.
