Hi

Right then I've got the following on order;

50g williamette
25g of Simcoe and 25g of citra

Want to do a bit of experimenting with ipa kits

Don't know whether to make additions to high end kits mangrove Jack's / Young's or a cheaper kit
I'm inclined to use high end and add additions with or without hops already with kit

I'm wishing to start 2 kits at the same time

Any thoughts ?

Thank you

I dont know your volume, but if you are making 20l batches thats not a lot of hops if you are making an IPA if thats your total additions.
if its on top of hops in the kit then could be ok. I will typically use about 20-30 for boil depending on Alpha content, 100g approx in whirlpool and 160g for dry hop I ususally get 3 100g packs for one brew but I like very hoppy beer.

You would need to look at the hops you are getting in your kits and see the characteristics and whether these would work together although those varieties go pretty much with most but it depends on what you want out of the finished beer (lots of Citrus, some Dank quality, Tropical etc)
