I am going to add honey to my next brew and was wondering if you guys have any tips about quality of honey I should use in a brew? i.e. If it's just for the honey flavour, would ASDA smart price honey at 22.1p/100g be as good as manuka honey at £2.64/100g?

Obviously would be good to keep the cost down :)

Thanks

Having down several Honey beers, I have noticed a flavour difference between mid priced branded honey and Local honey which is more expensive.
The cheaper one hasn't got the distinctive flavour of honey it's very subdued. where as the Local honey has a big aroma of honey and you can clearly taste it.

I would play middleground to start with don't go cheap but don't use the expensive stuff either that way you can gauge the taste afterwards and then you may be able to get away with the cheaper.

By the way I use a 1KG per 25 ltr

Yep, will probably try to find something in between. I'll let you all know how the brew goes. Sunday is brew day :)
