So 18 hours of brewing plus 66.5 hours open and serving is 84.5 hours every week, not to mention taking deliveries, faffing about with co2, cleaning spew off the bog...

I reckon thats easy 100 hours a week work. Make sure it has a bed room!

Yeah that sounds about right for running a free of tie pub.

My pub is moving to brew pub once the equipment is bought, I have a personal license and premise license, I already have business water rates and disposal it's getting the council licensing officer, who brews cider himself to come and check it out then environmental services pop in and keep on top of your books.

Of course if it fails we can still sell alco pops just need to find a bottle wholesaler, a auto capper and labels.

It's definitely doable.

The best beer I have had this year was from our fellow brewer UnclePumble and his Cheshire Brewhouse. :thumb: :thumb:
I am itching to try his Galaxy Blues
its all damn good btw ive got 4 bottles of this in my house im going to get some of his black ipa too ,if he managed to deliver to my local bottle shop the other day

hes not shy of working is shane last time i spoke to him he was on target for another 16 hour day, delivering and brewing one after another

and on the post? hmm cuckoo brews dont benefit from small brewers relief for a kickoff, however would it qualify as a cuckoo brew?? :hmm: i know lots of brewers who do the brew day experience (were looking into it ourselves) its an interesting way of generating a couple of quid......

There are businesses here in Australia which caters for home brewers,if the business owner is not selling the beer he needs no license, the one close by to me has maybe 10 kettles, the punters go in, pay their money, pick out a recipe, gather up the ingredients, brew their beer, add the yeast and go back 2 weeks later (longer if it is a stronger beer) to bottle or can their beer.

The punter ends up with about 5 slabs, they can put up a swap, and while brewing can drink beer from stock for free and replace it when they can or bottle their own.

Obviously it is not an all grain brew, but I have called in a couple of times and it is a very friendly atmosphere with quite a few people milling around.
I personally didn't think it would catch on but it seems to be thriving and he has been there for 6 or seven years.

I don't know if U.K law would endorse it but I would be surprised if it didn't as the laws here and U.K seem to go hand in glove.

I think they used to have them in the UK 15 yrs ago but I think they all folded. Nice idea though. :thumb:
