piddledribble said:Yes I was born near the Yarborough Club ! The Drum is still going strong. I'm a bit worried about some of the pubs Northern Brewer mentioned...Salutation... never felt safe in there
Biscuit Billy's is one I can't remember at all unless it went by another name. So many pubs in those days Leopard, Corporation Taps, Volunteer Inn Woolpack has just changed ( or closed can't remember) but they did good big dinners on a Saturday afternoon for market shoppers. and The Black Bull i never dared to enter and still wouldn't !

Although I can't place the HallCross or its sister pub I can't place it still being there at Bawtry. Will have to search next time in and around Bawtry

About St Leger Tavern
Affectionately known as Biscuit Billy's to the locals this is a lively and welcoming pub right in the heart of town and a regular stop of for those on a night out. Recently refurbished this small pub manages to mix a bit of tradition within its contemporary design.
although another post says I don't go in there one look through the window makes me cry remembering how it was....
