I have just done my first kit in about 10years and its a bit of a disaster it a Muntons Gold Midas Touch Golden Ale but its stuck at 1016 have tried a bit of yeast but its not moved so am thinking of moving on

Any recommendation on a good reliable kit my taste is for things like 6X or Old Speckled Hen
 
thats not a disaster, how long has it been going? Have you tried moving it somewhere warm? As for kits st peters ruby red is a good one
 
How long has it been at 1016? When did you pitch the new yeast? Try giving it a stir without making too much froth and make sure it is somewhere warm.
 
It done 10days at 20 to 24 deg, it went well for a few days then stopped i thought it may of been a bit warm so dropped the temp to 18-20 deg gave a light stir and added a bit of yeast but no change after a further 3 days.
 
The new festival kits are really really nice get a few of those done
 
st peters ruby red
Coopers Stout with 500g Dark DME and a tin of treacle
woodforde's wherry.
Should keep you busy for a while. :thumb:
