Many years ago, I was an enthusiastic home brewer, but it gradually became more sporadic, and then I pretty much stopped thanks to being rather too busy in life.
Now I want to get back into it.

Where I was when I was regularly brewing was using part malt extract, part grain, in large part down to equipment restrictions. At least to start with, that's probably where I'll aim for after attempting a kit or two to get back in the swing - I s.till have pretty much all the old equipment

One thing I'm really not sure of these days is suppliers - the ones I used to use have gone or no longer sell any brewing stuff, so I will have a search and ask if I can't find what I'm looking for.

So hello, everyone!

Hello Nickorando and welcome back to brewing. It might help if you gave us an indication of where you live. Failing that, there are some excellent online suppliers: BrewUK, Malt Miller, Homebrew Company, Geterbrewed are the ones I tend to use, mainly because they export to Europe. What sort of beer do you like drinking?

Sorry, I'm in Kenilworth in the midlands of the UK. I'm ploughing through the forums finding out what I can. ;) The link from Chippy Tea has helped, and thanks for your info, too, most kind.
As to what beer I like, well a very broad range. I found US craft beer over 20 years ago, have spent a long time in Belgium, have been a CAMRA member for many years, love Munich as a drinking destination, also Prague, and we even had a trip to Riga in January that involved several brewery visits. I guess what I'll be aiming at as my two most frequent brews would be a mid-strength hoppy IPA, and something darker, sweeter and stronger.
Once I've got that nailed down, very small batches of all sorts of things, which I probably could do full mash with, but I need to get back into it first.
