Please forgive my ignorance but I am having problems reading the hydrometer.

When I star, the wort was marking on the blue zone 69 (just before the big 70) now after 10 days it is on the orange zone 32 I think (just below the big 30) what is the alcohol of the beer? is that the way you read it?

On the instructions the beer supposes to be 8% after the final stage.

Thank you for your help

Hi Luis,

According to the calculator found here -> calculators.php?#ABV the ABV will currently be 5%.

Did you take both your readings at 20 deg. C? It can affect the final ready a little (but not by 3%!)

I would expect beer to drop lower than 1032, are you sure it's finished fermenting?

Hi Bogwitch,

Thank you for your help

yes It was 20 C or so. that is fine. I think it will need to have a second fermentation for a week or so and the will be in bottles for at least 5 weeks. so I guess after all that time it will reach 8% or so.

Thanks a lot
Luis
