I brewed my effin oatmeal stout yesterday. I was aiming for 50L at 1.053 I have ended up with 50L at 1.063   .

I want to liquor it back to 1.053 is there a calculation I can use or is it a case of adding a bit of water bit by bit until i get the reading I want.

50*63/53 = New Total Volume . . . New Total Volume - Current Volume = Amount To Add

50*63/53 = 59.4 . .. . 59.4 - 50 = 9.4L

QED ;)

Thanks for that Aleman. I have made a bit of a mistake I took out about 10L for the Elderberry stout so I actually have 40L to liquor back.

So from you formula is this correct

40*63/53 = 47.57 . .. . 47.54 - 40 = 7.54L

Cheers for that
