Clean and reliable. I think it's quite commonly used as a kit yeast because it can tolerate most fermentation conditions.
Seems a lot. I've bought different types of nutrients from brewshops and dosage has typically been 5g per 5 gallon brew, but down to 1.25g per batch for my latest one.I’m going to get some yeast nutrient for this big beer too. The ones on malt miller are disgustingly high in price, was thinking of using the young’s one (100g tub), has anyone used this one? How much do I add to the end of the boil?- it states 1tsp per gallon, this would make around 4 tsp for the entire batch! This seems excessive!
Plus I’ve also seen other device stating one tsp per 5 gallon batch?
There is a calculator at the top of the page for IBU's . Ive never used a calculation and if it was me i would just put a wee bit extra magnum if the recipe says 43g of 16 AA hops and the magnum being 10 AA then i would stick in 50g. Not very scientific i know but would probably be good.As well as the above question I have another query- So the recipe I have scaled up from 19l to 22l and now calls for 43g of warrior at 16AA. If I was going to use magnum instead then the AA for this hop is only 10. How much of this hop would I need to use to get the same bittering effect? Is there a formula? If I knew the formula I would be able to work it out myself
Cheers
